WELLNESS EXAMS
Regular wellness exams allow use to evaluate your pet’s general health and become aware of any health problems before they become serious illnesses.
Routine blood testing, urinalysis (urine testing) and other tests are recommended for all pets in their “senior years.”
VACCINATIONS
Many Canine and Feline diseases can now be prevented through vaccination. A vaccination schedule prepared by your veterinarian can greatly contribute to good health and a longer life span for your dogs and cats.
SPAY & NEUTER
You have made the right decision to spay/neuter your pet.
Spaying or neutering is one of the most important preventive health measures you can provide for your pet.
Spaying/Neutering helps pets live longer, healthier lives and reduces pet over population.
For females, the risk of mammary cancer is significantly reduced if she is spayed prior to the first estrus. Spaying also eliminates heat cycles and their associated problems, such as often life threatening pyometria (an infected uterus).
DENTAL CARE
Keeping your pet's teeth and gums healthy is actually very easy. First, ask your veterinarian about a professional prophylaxis that cleans the teeth. Next, feed your pet a larger kibble specially made for dental care, such as Hill's Prescription diet food, t/d. This food scrubs the teeth clean as your pet chews. Also, start brushing your pet's teeth. Ask your vet to teach you how to do this properly.

Several factors contribute to oral health problems including age, breed, congenital defects, type of food and genetics. Dental disease is more common in older animals, small dogs are prone to overcrowded, misalligned teeth, making them harder to clean, and sticky foods can lead to a more rapid buildup of plaque. Plaque turns into tarter in as little as 24 hours. Tarter accumulation on the teeth results in gingivitis, and chronic, low grade infection in the blood stream that can lead to kidney disease, heart valve infections or infection in the liver.
BOARDING & DAYCARE
As clients of the Tully Animal Clinic or Homer Animal Clinic, please take advantage of our large runs, kennels and large fenced in yard the next time a vacation is planned. $25/day + tax.
Your pets will love the large fenced in grassy yard. The runs and kennels are air conditioned / heated. Dogs are walked 2 times a day, but can go out as many times as requested. Bedding and bowls are provided, but please feel free to bring your pets own food and a favorite toy.
MICROCHIPPING
Home Again Microchips are available to our clients. Placement should be done during an anesthetic procedure like a spay or neuter, but can be placed during any scheduled appointment. The chip must be registered with the Home Again company to activate the chip at a relatively inexpensive cost. There are different registration plans that cost different amounts.
HOUSE CALL
If your pet does not like to travel. House calls are available by appointment.
